For some inexplicable reason, Stefanos Tsitsipas’s mother Yulia Salnikova has decided to share her thoughts on his personal life after the Greek tennis star had a challenging season on and off the court.
Among the topics she discussed was her son’s social media usage and his breakup with Paula Badosa.
What Mom Of Stefanos Tsitsipas Said
Tsitsipas‘s mom sounded like a typical parent of an adult child stating that she did not understand his frequent social media posts.
However, her son is a professional athlete who had arguably the toughest year of his career falling in the rankings and dealing with a back injury that was eerily similar to his ex-girlfriend’s, Paula Badosa. No adult child wants his mother oversharing about his life to anyone much less the media.
Salnikova also spilled the beans about the Badosa breakup. She said plenty before ironically cutting herself off by saying she has an agreement with his team not to overshare.
It might have been too late because before she stopped herself, she said.
“When I was a professional tennis player in my youth, I thought a man shouldn’t react so emotionally. For some reason, that’s how I felt. But it turns out that men are perhaps even more sensitive in this matter. I wouldn’t really like to go into that because I have an agreement with the team. The most accurate answer would be: the relationship wasn’t easy for him.”
Tsitsipas Hopes To Change The Script In 2026
In 2025, the 27-year-old won one title and fell to World No. 34. The former World No. 3 did not make it past the second round of any 2025 Grand Slam.
He is currently training with his brother Petros and Maria Sakkari as they prepare to represent Greece in January’s United Cup.
