Aaron Rodgers holds the ball and readies to throw.

The Pittsburgh Steelers enter the season with a 41-year-old QB under center. Aaron Rodgers will be the starting QB for Pittsburgh.

The offensive line will have the task of keeping Rodgers healthy all season. Broderick Jones will be the starting left tackle, and he will need to have a much-improved 2025 campaign for the Steelers to have a chance of improving offensively in 2025.

The defense remains the catalyst for the Steelers, despite Cam Heyward once again wanting a new deal. T.J. Watt remains one of the best pass rushers in the league. They revamped their secondary, bringing in CBs Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay. To acquire Ramsey, the Steelers traded away Minkah Fitzpatrick.

The Steelers’ win total is set at 8.5. With them being in the AFC North, six of their 17 games will be against the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns. They will also face the NFC North this season. It is a tough schedule for the Steelers in 2025.

Will The Pittsburgh Steelers Go Over Or Under Their 8.5 Win Total?

The Steelers have two road games, one game in Ireland, and a bye week from weeks 1-5.

Weeks 1-5

Pittsburgh’s first game is a road contest against the Jets. They face Justin Fields and a weaker offense. The Steelers will defeat the Jets.

A home matchup is next against the Seahawks in week 2. Pittsburgh’s defense should fare well in this contest, and they will defeat Seattle.

Week 3 is a tough road matchup against a rising Patriots team. This spells a loss after back-to-back wins.

It is tough to predict how well the Vikings will be as J.J. McCarthy is an unknown entering the 2025 season. Jordan Addison will return from suspension for this contest. Minnesota has the better all-around team. The Steelers will lose in Ireland.

Week 5 is a bye week.

Steelers record from weeks 1-5: 2-2

Weeks 6-10

Following their week 5 bye is a home contest against the Cleveland Browns. This will be a win for the Steelers.

Next is another divisional matchup. A road contest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. This spells trouble for the Steelers against Joe Burrow and the high-flying Bengals offense on a short week.

Week Eight is a home contest on Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. By adding Micah Parsons, the Packers are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Packers are a better team and will defeat Pittsburgh.

Following the Packers is another home game against the Colts in week 9. Pittsburgh will bounce back after losing two straight and win this contest.

Another Sunday Night Football matchup is on tap in week 10 against the LA Chargers. This will be a lower-scoring game. With Rashawn Slater out for the Chargers, if Watt is healthy, the Steelers’ pass rush should feast on the banged-up Chargers’ offensive line. Pittsburgh will win a low-scoring contest.

Steelers record from weeks 6-10: 3-2

Weeks 11-15

The Steelers will face the Bengals at home in week 11. After losing to the Bengals in week 7, the Steelers will bounce back and defeat the Bengals at home.

Next is a road contest against the Chicago Bears. The Bears are a much better team than last year and will have an improved offense in 2025. This will be a loss for the Steelers.

After a tough road contest in week 12 is another incredibly challenging matchup in week 13 against the Buffalo Bills at home. Josh Allen and the Bills will come into Pittsburgh and win.

Week 14 is a tough road contest against the Baltimore Ravens. Pittsburgh will lose its third straight game against Baltimore.

Pittsburgh will get back in the win column in week 15 in a home matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Miami struggles to play in the cold, and this will be a Monday Night game in December.

Steelers record from weeks 11-15: 2-3

Weeks 16-18

Week 16 is a challenging road matchup against the Detroit Lions. This will be a loss for the Steelers. Detroit’s offense will be too high-powered for the Steelers to overcome.

After a week 16 loss, the Steelers will go to the Browns and defeat Cleveland. The Browns’ QB situation will be murky, and Pittsburgh’s defense will show up.

Week 18 is a home matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. This will depend on whether the Ravens have anything to play for or not. If Baltimore needs to win and has Lamar Jackson on the field, the Steelers will lose. However, if the Ravens can rest Jackson, the Steelers will win this contest. We will, for now, predict a loss for the Steelers.

Final Pittsburgh Steelers Record

Based on the schedule, the Steelers are projected to win eight games, which puts them under their 8.5 win total.

If Baltimore rests their starters in week 18, the Steelers will win the contest and win nine games.

With a tough schedule in 2025, the Steelers will miss the playoffs whether they win eight or nine games.
