Wimbledon Day 10: Order Is Restored In Men’s Semifinals, 4 Of 6 Top Seeded Men Are In

Wimbledon 2025 has been the most upset-friendly Grand Slam so far this year.  However, now that the men’s singles final four has been established, it appears that order is somewhat restored.

The semifinalists are World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz vs. World No. 4 Taylor Fritz, and World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and World No. 6 Novak Djokovic. On Day 10, Ben Shelton and Flavio Cobolli put up good fights, but it was not enough to derail the inevitable.

There are a lot of headlines that can be written about the final four.  Here are just a few.

1. Jannik Sinner Overcomes Elbow Injury And Ben Shelton

Sinner suffered an elbow injury in the quarterfinal match against Grigor Dimitrov.  He had an MRI yesterday and canceled his regular practice, but it did not seem to limit him. The elbow appeared to be bandaged under a compression sleeve.

Jannik Sinner will try to beat Novak Djokovic for the first time on grass. Though he leads the head-to-head 5-4, two of the losses came at Wimbledon in the 2022 quarterfinals and 2023 semifinals.

2. Taylor Fritz Is Last American Man Standing At Wimbledon

Can Taylor Fritz earn a spot in his second Grand Slam final in less than a year?  The 2024 US Open finalist lost to Jannik Sinner, but he needs to get through the hottest player on the ATP Tour right now, Carlos Alcaraz, who has an over 25 match winning streak.

The highest ranked American man is trying to win the first American men’s singles Grand Slam in 22 years.

3. Novak Djokovic Is Poised To Pull Off Enormous Summer 2025 Accomplishment

Novak Djokovic has very few holes in his resume, and after winning the gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics, there is only one huge accomplishment left in sight.  It is the 25th Grand Slam win. Djokovic has played great this fortnight, and physically, he seems to be in peak condition in the second week of a Grand Slam.

Can he defeat Jannik Sinner to get one step closer?

4. Carlos Alcaraz Is Attempting To Do What Bjorn Borg Has Done

Carlos Alcaraz has played his best tennis in the spring and summer of 2024 and 2025. If he wins Wimbledon, he can match Bjorn Borg’s accomplishment of winning both the French Open and Wimbledon in back-to-back years.

Fritz, and either Djokovic or Sinner, currently stand in his way of rewriting tennis history.
