John Cena

John Cena will go down as one of the greatest performers in WWE history.

Nobody has granted more “Make A Wish” wishes than Cena.

Before the Elimination Chamber, The Rock offered Cody Rhodes to join him and he would take his soul. At the Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto, Cody declined Rock’s offer.

This was expected to occur. Cody was never going to join Rock and become a “heel”.

However, what occurred after Rhodes declined his offer was something nobody ever thought would happen.

John Cena, the man who was a face his entire WWE career, suddenly turned on Cody Rhodes, joined The Rock and turned heel. Travis Scott was alongside Rock and Cena.

Here is the shocking segment in which Cena turned heel.

Elimination Chamber Results: John Cena Turns Heel

The Elimination Chamber PLE was great. The Men’s and Women’s chamber matches were both excellent.

Bianca Belair won the women’s Elimination Chamber match, punching her ticket for a Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania against either Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky. Jade Cargill returned and destroyed Naomi.

Trish Stratus in her hometown of Toronto teamed up with SmackDown Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and they defeated Nia Jax and Candice LeRae.

Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn in a brutal Unsanctioned match. Randy Orton returned after the match to attack Owens after Owens put him out of action. This likely sets up a match at WrestleMania between Owens and Orton.

The Men’s Elimination Chamber match was the main event. It was a great match. CM Punk and Seth Rollins were both fantastic in the match. Rollins cost Punk a shot at a title match at WrestleMania after he stomped Punk after Punk eliminated him. This set up Cena to put Punk in a submission move and Punk passed out. Punk never tapped out, so one has to wonder if WWE will revisit this before or after WrestleMania.

Still, the biggest shocker of the night was Cena turning heel and joining Rock. This had Hulk Hogan joining the NWO at Bash At The Beach vibes.

Cena was always a good guy throughout his WWE career. In his final year in WWE, he turned heel and shocked everyone.

How Will This Play Out?

Cena is set to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania for the Undisputed Title.

We have never seen Cena be a heel. This will truly be historic for WWE. Their biggest babyface after the attitude era has gone bad.

The story and build-up to Rhodes vs Cena will be epic. Rock will be involved. This is shaping up to be a historic WrestleMania on April 19 and 20 in Las Vegas.

Time will tell if WWE keeps this a singles match between Cena and Rhodes or if the fact Punk never tapped out will play a factor.

Punk does not like Rock and adding him to this storyline to make it a triple-threat match would be an even bigger story. However, Punk may be in a triple-threat match against Rollins and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania as well. Either way, Punk will have a huge match at WrestleMania.

As for Cena, this will be different for him to play the heel. He will do a superb job at it. He is attempting to break the record for most world heavyweight title reigns in WWE history. Cena has a chance to do it at WrestleMania 41.
