Charlotte Hornets
Michael Jordan was one of the greatest basketball players of all time, and he’s now the Charlotte Hornets’ governor, but his brother is also currently finding success in the NBA.
LiAngelo Ball is still fighting to rejoin his two brothers in the NBA, and he just took a massive step toward that goal with 22 points off the bench in his G League debut.
LaMelo Ball ran his mouth about how he feels about education in GQ, then quickly took to Instagram to (kind of) back off the comments. The NBA Rookie of the Year said that school wasn’t for him, then told kids to stay in school, unless their “Plan A” is working out, like his did.
A last-minute change of heart stopped Michael Jordan from buying the Milwaukee Bucks, which raises the question of whether Giannis Antetokounmpo would have ended up leading the franchise to its first NBA championship in 50 years.
LiAngelo Ball is the only Ball brother not currently in the NBA. If he keeps playing like he did in Summer League, though, that could change. The middle Ball brother looked good for the Charlotte Hornets in Las Vegas, adding 16 points in his 16 minutes and making five out of eight 3-point shots.
Two first-round NBA draft picks are excited about the potential of their new team. While they aren’t Showtime yet, they could be very good. The Charlotte Hornets’ James Bouknight and Kai Jones think that teaming up with LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward makes them a team to watch in the coming years.
The Charlotte Hornets are the fifth-worst team in the NBA since Michael Jordan bought a majority stake of the franchise in 2010. But with LaMelo Ball turning in a Rookie of the Year season after being taken third overall in the NBA draft, there is at least hope in Charlotte that Jordan might finally get the Hornets over the hump.
Lavar Ball’s dream of his sons, Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball, all playing together is about to get one step closer with the Hornets. The team is about to sign LiAngelo Ball to a contract to play on its Las Vegas Summer League team in the same summer Lonzo Ball is a restricted free agent.
Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball haven’t played together in a meaningful game since high school. According to LiAngelo, that may change this summer when the threesome reunites on the court in LA’s famous Drew League. They may also reunite with their Chino Hill teammates who were one of the best high school teams ever.
LaVar Ball is never one to miss an opportunity to talk trash or try and sell you something, His obnoxious LaMelo Ball ROTY video does both. In a social media video, LaVar touts his son’s accomplishment and tries to sell you a $50 hat commemorating the accomplishment.
