Chase Elliott
Currently driving the No. 9 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, Chase Elliott is a professional driver who races in the NASCAR Cup Series. He also participates part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 7 car for Spire Motorsports.
The son of 1988 Winston Cup Series Champion Bill Elliott, Chase Elliott began racing in the Cup Series full-time in 2016 and went on to win the 2020 series championship.
A multi-time winner of Most Popular Driver, he has accumulated double-digit wins and triple-digit top-10s since making his Cup Series debut at the 2015 STP 500 in Martinsville.
In February 2022, he signed a five-year extension with Hendrick Motorsports that should keep him behind the wheel for the team until 2027.
Six races into the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, it’s fair to say that some degree of parity exists. After all, in those first half-dozen events, all three manufacturers — Chevrolet, Toyota and Ford — have been to Victory Lane. Also, the Wood Brothers’ Josh Berry scored his first career victory, and no one driver […]
Once considered the NASCAR Cup Series’ resident road course king, Chase Elliott hasn’t been to Victory Lane on a road circuit since the debut of the Next Generation Cup Series car in 2022. That’s pretty hard to believe when considering Elliott’s overall record at tracks that require both left-hand and right-hand turns. Will this be […]
Last weekend’s Daytona 500, the official kickoff to the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, didn’t go as Chase Elliott wanted. While the outcome couldn’t have been any more favorable to Elliott’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron, who captured his second consecutive win in The Great American Race, Elliott was an afterthought in the final analysis. […]
While forecasts have indicated that rain could put a damper on Sunday’s proceedings at Daytona International Speedway, wet weather isn’t always a nuisance. That’s especially true if you’re AJ Allmendinger, Chase Elliott or Joey Logano. These three drivers, all on this weekend’s Daytona 500 starting grid, have enjoyed stellar runs in soggy conditions in fairly […]
When the green flag waves on Sunday’s Daytona 500, Joey Logano will be the only NASCAR Cup Series champion in the field with a Daytona 500 victory. Remarkably, the other five — and possibly six — champions will all be chasing their first Harley J. Earl Trophy. Before the engines fire in Central Florida to […]
No matter how you slice it, Sunday night’s Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium was a major success for NASCAR. Not only did fans pack the stands and the sport’s most popular driver score a popular win, but the participants got to sleep in their own beds — which rarely happens over the lengthy […]
Sunday night’s Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium might not have produced the best racing in the world, but many people watching in the stands and from home couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome. That’s because the night — and, really, the entire weekend — belonged to NASCAR’s most popular driver, Chase […]
The main event of Sunday night’s Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium was, by any objective measure, a bit of a snoozer. The preliminary 75-lap Last Chance Qualifier leading up to it was anything but boring, however. And for that, you can mostly thank Ty Gibbs. No, Gibbs didn’t win the Last Chance Qualifier, […]
NASCAR Cup Series driver Chase Elliott enjoyed the unique experience. Leading for 171 of 200 laps Sunday night, the 2000 circuit champion opened the 2025 season with a dominating Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium victory. The preseason showcase attracted a sell-out crowd of more than 17,000 spectators. “This environment is special,” Elliott […]
With the running of four Saturday heat races at Bowman Gray Stadium, the field is mostly set for Sunday’s Cook Out Clash — an exhibition race that marks the unofficial start of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. Before the green flag for the main event waves just after 8 p.m. EST on FOX, here […]
