As the NFL heads into the new league year, several key players are in danger of being cut. Here are five NFL cut candidates this offseason.

Cooper Kupp

Cooper Kupp announced that his time in Los Angeles is over.

Kupp released a statement that the Rams will be seeking a trade immediately.

Knowing the Rams won’t keep him, many teams might just wait for Kupp to be released and hit free agency.

Kupp’s roster bonus of $7.5 million is due on March 17. Cutting Kupp before June 1 would mean $22.26 million in dead money while saving $7.5 million.

The team could save $15 million by cutting Kupp after June 1. However, the Rams clearly want to move on from Kupp sooner rather than later.

Davante Adams

The Aaron Rodgers era in New York has come to an end.

Rodgers’ best friend, Davante Adams, might be on his way out, too.

Cutting Adams would incur an $8.3 million dead cap hit, but it would save the Jets $29.8 million in cap space.

Without Rodgers, Adams probably wants to leave New York anyway.

James Bradberry

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a dominant performance in Super Bowl LIX.

James Bradberry used to be one of the Eagles’ top cornerbacks.

Because of the emergence of rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, the Eagles did not need Bradberry this season.

In fact, Bradberry did not play a snap due to injury.

Cutting Bradberry would save between $4 million and $5 million.

Miles Sanders

The Carolina Panthers have their running back tandem of the future in Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks.

Miles Sanders is not in those plans.

Sanders will count for $8.2 million against the cap in 2025.

Releasing Sanders would save the Panthers $5.3 million.

It would be downright shocking if Sanders remains a Panther.

Joey Bosa

Joey Bosa might have played his last snap for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Though the Chargers will be one of the teams with the most cap space, they could free up even more space by cutting Bosa.

The Chargers could save over $25 million in cap space by cutting or trading Bosa.

Considering Bosa’s injuries, he is a prime candidate to be released.
