Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp released a statement Monday that “the team will be seeking a trade immediately.” Kupp disagrees with the decision and “believed it was going to begin and end in LA.” Which teams are looking to add another receiver? Here are three teams that could acquire Kupp in a trade.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers desperately need another offensive weapon.

Tight end Pat Freiermuth and wide receiver George Pickens led the team with 65 and 59 receptions, respectively. The next closest wide receiver or tight end was Calvin Austin III with 36 receptions.

The Steelers tried to acquire Brandon Aiyuk last offseason before he re-signed with the 49ers.

Pittsburgh also traded for Mike Williams at this year’s trade deadline.

While the Steelers must figure out what to do at quarterback, the new signal caller will need another weapon.

If Kupp can stay healthy, he could be the perfect No. 2 option for the Steelers’ new quarterback. Kupp could be the short/intermediate option, while Pickens remains the deep threat.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders exceed expectations in Dan Quinn’s first year.

Led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Commanders defeated the Bucs and Lions in the postseason before falling to the Eagles in the NFC Championship.

Despite the loss, 2024 was a massive success for the Commanders.

Washington must take advantage of having a rookie quarterback on a cheap contract. Now is the time to add weapons around Daniels before the team must pay him top dollar in a few seasons.

Kupp could step right in and become the No. 2 wide receiver behind Terry McLaurin.

If Washington re-signs Zach Ertz, a McLaurin/Kupp/Ertz receiving corps would give opposing defenses fits.

New England Patriots

Similar to the Commanders, the New England Patriots have a talented rookie quarterback — Drake May — on a rookie deal.

Having a rookie quarterback is one of the biggest advantages in the NFL. It allows teams to build strong rosters without spending huge money on the quarterback. Look at what the San Francisco 49ers did with Brock Purdy.

The Patriots need to surround Maye with as many weapons as possible. They have the cap space to add multiple impact players.

While Kupp will likely need to restructure his deal, adding him to the Patriots gives Maye a reliable veteran receiver when he’s on the field.
