Bleacher Report analyst Brad Gagnon placed both Bosa and George Kittle on his list of 10 key injuries to monitor in 2026, writing on July 1 that the two recoveries could deeply impact how the entire season plays out. Gagnon noted the defense produced a league-low 20 sacks in 2025, and that Williams is also rehabbing his own ACL tear from last November. This is a pass rush rebuilding itself from close to scratch.
The production arc adds context that the optimistic framing tends to skip. Bosa had 34.0 sacks and 40 tackles for loss across 2021 and 2022, winning NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading the league with 18.5 sacks in 2022.
