American Taylor Fritz won his fourth career Lexus Eastbourne Open title on Saturday in straight sets over compatriot Jenson Brooksby. Fritz and Brooksby battled in a tight first set before Fritz pulled away in the second.

Fritz joins two other American men who have won four or more ATP titles at the same event: John Isner did it twice in Atlanta (6 titles) and Newport (4 titles) and Andy Roddick won Queen’s Club four times.
This is Fritz’s 10th career ATP title, five have come on grass. Novak Djokovic is the only active player with more grass court titles (8) than Fritz.
Taylor Fritz won the BOSS Open two weeks agao, and he is the first man to win two grass court titles before Wimbledon since Matteo Berrettini in 2022.

Eastbourne is not an easy place to play. Changing weather, wind, and slick courts are part of the deal. Fritz had a scary slip on the court in the second set which hopefully did not feel as bad as it looked.
Fritz talked about eating at the same restaurant every night he is in Eastbourne, making him somewhat superstitious, but all of it seems to be working for him.
Brief Celebration Then Wimbledon Is Calling
Taylor Fritz and his team will likely have a very brief celebration before heading to Wimbledon. His best finishes at Wimbledon were quarterfinal appearances in 2022 and 2024.

Fritz has a tough first round opponent on Monday in 21-year-old French player Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard who has blistering first and second serves clocking in at 130 miles per hour.
Some worry that he has played too much tennis in this abbreviated grass court season and will come in tired. However, Fritz was sidelined and dealt with injury for most of the spring so he felt he needed the match play to get into form.
