Though Jannik Sinner is not scheduled to play his semifinal match against Ben Shelton until Wednesday, eyebrows raised when he canceled his practice on Tuesday afternoon. Sinner injured his elbow in the Grigor Dimitrov Round of 16 match on Monday. He was expected to get an MRI sometime Tuesday.

Still no news on the MRI results for his elbow injury.

As of now, the results of the MRI are unknown. And the practice cancellation could be nothing more than relocating his practice to a more secluded location (away from cameras wanting to see how his elbow is).
Jannik Sinner Injury Speculation Increases
It does create concerns if the elbow is significantly injured and if Sinner will be able to play or at what capacity on Wednesday.
Ben Shelton has played a terrific Wimbledon tournament and is eager for the challenge to take on the World No. 1 on the grass.
Though it is premature, could we be in a situation where Shelton gets the walkover to earn the first Wimbledon semifinal appearance of his career.
No one wants to see this outcome, especially with a Grand Slam semifinal spot on the line, but it does make people wonder. It also makes the Dimitrov-Sinner match doubly tragic with Dimitrov’s pectoral muscle injury and Sinner’s elbow injury.
In the meantime, Shelton’s compatriot, Taylor Fritz, booked his semifinal spot and will take on the winner of the Cam Norrie and Carlos Alcaraz quarterfinal match.
The men’s side of the draw has suffered from unfortunate walkovers during the fortnight. In addition to Dimitrov, Jordan Thompson, who was dealing with multiple injuries, retired during his Round of 16 match. Sebastian Baez and Stefanos Tsitsipas retired in their first round matches.
