At a Fourth of July rally, President Donald Trump announced that he plans to have a UFC event at the White House in 2026 to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday.
“So every one of our national parks, battlefields, and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of America 250. And I even think we’re going to have a UFC fight. Think of this on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said.
White addressed the UFC event at the White House on a recent edition of the Full Send podcast. White revealed that Trump did not tell him beforehand about the UFC announcement. However, White said that his team has already walked the grounds of the White House to plan for an event.
“We did all the logistics,” White said. “And we’re putting together sort of the layout for it right now.”
Speaking of logistics, there are still hundreds of moving parts that need to be addressed. Will it be open to the public? Will the UFC sell tickets? White does not have answers at this time.
“First of all, I don’t even know how many people can get in, not to mention the fact that Secret Service isn’t going to let a lot of people come do this,” White said. “Everybody’s going to have to have background checks.”
Despite the challenges, White appreciates Trump’s passion for America and wants the UFC to play a part in the 250th celebration.
“He’s [Trump] got this thing and I think it’s awesome, he wants the American people to enjoy the White House,” White explained. “This is our place, all the history that’s there. He’s bringing back the Easter egg hunts and things that used to happen there. He loves the sport so he wants to do a UFC event there. Why would we say no to that?”

Let’s say White pulls it off and gets approval for the UFC event at the White House. Who will fight on the card? According to White, the entire roster wants to be on the card.
“Everybody wants to fight on this card. Literally everybody. Everybody,” White said. “Here’s the thing, we’re a year away so the whole UFC landscape will change over the next year. We’ll see where we’re at. We will absolutely, positively put on the baddest card of all time. This is going to be like an exceptional pay-per-view card.”
Two fighters have already thrown their name into the ring: Jon Jones and Conor McGregor.
Jones, who retired in January, has already put his name back into the drug testing pool. Jones wrote on X that he “found his reason” for fighting again and wants to represent America on the White House card.

McGregor also wants to fight at the White House, saying he would be “honored” to fight on that card.

White mentioned that it’s possible both Jones and McGregor could fight at the White House. However, only one can be in the main event, and White knows who he wants in the last fight.
“The dream main event right now would be [Tom] Aspinall vs. Jones,” White said.
Who would’ve thought that Trump might be the man to get Aspinall and Jones to fight in the octagon?
