With the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series idle until an Aug. 8 event at Watkins Glen International, Layne Riggs will enjoy some extra time to dwell on his dominating win at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park last Friday night.
The fourth-year driver swept both stages and led 160 of 200 laps.
“The truck was absolutely flying,” Riggs said via press release. “The entire team … brought me a rocket ship.”
Immediately after taking the checkered flag, Riggs reflected on the short-track moment.
“This track is special to me,” he said. “I made my first Truck Series start here in 2022 and my dad ran his first Truck Series race here back in 1999.
“To come full circle and grab the win here is just really cool.”
With two regular-season races remaining before the start of the Round of 10 playoffs, the No. 34 Ford driver (+320) garnered the second-best odds to win the 2025 circuit championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Corey Heim (-150) remains the heavy favorite to earn his first series title.
