The PGA Tour officially kicks off the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a trip to TPC Southwind for the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Only the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings have qualified for the field.
While Rory McIlroy won’t be teeing it up in the opener, the tournament still boasts plenty of star power, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who enters as the overwhelming favorite at +300. With the rest of the field priced fairly long, it sets up as an ideal weekend for bettors looking to take a shot on some high-value longshots.
Read on for the latest 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship odds, along with expert predictions and best bets for all the action this weekend in Memphis, Tennessee.
FedEx St. Jude Championship 2025 Odds
Due to the size and strength of the field, many top-tier golfers, aside from the heavy favorite Scottie Scheffler, are priced quite generously this week, which opens the door for value plays across the board. Historically, the FedEx St. Jude Championship has been kind to longshots, with players like Lucas Glover, Will Zalatoris, and Tony Finau all finishing at the top of the leaderboard in recent years.
This year’s top five odds feature Scottie Scheffler (+300), followed by Xander Schauffele (+1600), Tommy Fleetwood (+2500), and Matt Fitzpatrick (+2500). With such strong names priced well beyond the favorite, this week could once again deliver surprises, and big payouts, for those willing to take a chance outside the obvious pick.
Also, regardless of how a player finishes in the tournament, advancement is based solely on FedEx Cup rankings. That means even if a top-tier player has a rough weekend, they can still move on thanks to the points they’ve accumulated throughout the season. It’s one of the main reasons why Rory McIlroy is able to skip the first leg; he’s already secured his spot at next week’s BMW Championship.
Whether you’re a seasoned bettor or just learning how to bet on golf, the FedEx St. Jude Championship could be an opportunity to win big this weekend.

FedEx St. Jude Championship 2025 Predictions
Here are our FedEx St. Jude Championship 2025 predictions and the best bets to win the tournament.
- Tommy Fleetwood (+2500)
- Hideki Matsuyama (+3000)
- Justin Thomas (+3300)
Tommy Fleetwood (+2500)
Still searching for his first PGA Tour win, Tommy Fleetwood is a great name to keep an eye on this weekend at TPC Southwind. He has a solid track record at this course, with a T3 finish in 2023 and a T22 last year.
The Englishman has been in decent form lately. He nearly captured the title at the Travelers Championship in late June and followed that up with a T16 at The Open. So far this season, he’s racked up five top-10 finishes and has only missed one cut. While a PGA Tour victory still eludes him, Fleetwood is consistently in the mix.
Statistically, he’s as steady as they come, ranking inside the top 25 in strokes gained: approach to green, strokes gained: total, strokes gained: tee-to-green, and one-putt percentage. At +2500, Fleetwood could absolutely be a strong contender this weekend.
Hideki Matsuyama (+3000)
The defending champion, Hideki Matsuyama, is back in the field once again. While he found success early in the season, it’s been a relatively quiet stretch since. In his last four starts, he’s finished inside the top 30 each time, including three top-20 finishes.
That said, Matsuyama thrives at TPC Southwind, one of his favorite tracks. Before his 2024 win, he had finishes of T16, T43, and T29 at this venue. The Japanese star is still putting up solid numbers, currently ranked 16th in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green. If he can dial in the putter this weekend, don’t be surprised to see him in the mix again at Southwind.
Justin Thomas (+3300)
Since winning the RBC Heritage in April, Justin Thomas has been somewhat unpredictable on the course. He’s finished T-22 or worse in five of his last six starts. But this week at TPC Southwind, he holds an edge over the field. As one of the best putters on Tour, Thomas ranks first in putting average, third in putts per round, and eighth in total putting. At +3300, he’s definitely worth a shot.
