Jack Draper is having bad luck when it comes to picking US Open Mixed Doubles partners. His first partner was Qinwen Zheng who is out indefinitely recovering from elbow surgery.
Today, we learned that his second partner, Paula Badosa, has withdrawn from the US Open, with the chronic back issue that has hampered her on and off for years.
That means Draper has no partner, but we have an idea.

Katerina Siniakova. It is that simple. She is currently the World No. 2 women’s doubles player. Siniakova has also won two doubles Grand Slams this year, the 2025 Australian Open with Taylor Townsend and the 2025 Wimbledon Championships mixed doubles with Sem Verbeek.

She is also the reigning Olympic mixed doubles gold medalist (from the 2024 Paris Olympics) with Tomas Machac.
This is a no-brainer for Jack Draper so we hope someone is whispering this idea into his ear.
US Open Mixed Doubles
We are about 10 days away from the reimagined and somewhat controversial US Open Mixed Doubles Championship. Taking place over the course of two days during US Open Fan Week, on August 19 and 20, 16 teams will play abbreviated matches (best of four games sets) over the course of two days to determine the champion.
Tennis purists believe this to be more of an exhibition schedule and not of the weight or complexity of a Grand Slam. The teams are also preapproved by the USTA based on ranking points and wildcard selections.
As of now, Siniakova is not on a team, an issue that she was not particularly happy about as the most recent half of a mixed doubles Grand Slam winning team.
There will be many eyes on the US Open Mixed Doubles to see how it is received by tennis fans in terms of television viewing and in person attendance.
