Bryson DeChambeau Suggests PGA Tour Drug Testing Is Less ‘Rigorous’ Than LIV Golf on Pat McAfee Show

Bryson DeChambeau revealed that there is a major difference between the drug testing in the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. “It’s actually a lot more rigorous than the other side,” DeChambeau revealed on the Pat McAfee show on Tuesday.

In 2021, DeChambeau was embroiled in controversy and suspected of using performance enhancing drugs. To dispel the rumors, he made a six-minute YouTube video of himself submitting bloodwork to a Quest Diagnostics lab and revealing the results.

“I wanted you guys to see this and showcase this because no one else is going to do this,” DeChambeau says. “This is medical information that I’m willing to disclose, and I want you guys to know I did this in a way that was hopefully natural, and just hard work.”

In the video, he reads an email from the Quest Diagnostics lab confirming that his results were clean.

“All negative,” DeChambeau said. “Nothing.”

DeChambeau Misses Chance at $100k on Pat McAfee Show

On the Pat McAfee Show, DeChambeau also spoke on the advantages of the team format of LIV Golf events, President Trump’s golf game, and his position on the Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. “I genuinely care about the future of America,” DeChambeau explained.

The two-time U.S. Open champion was also given a chance to make a hole-in-one from 100 yards in just 14 shots to earn $100,000 for charity. While DeChambeau didn’t complete the challenge on ESPN, he got fairly close on a couple of occasions.

McAfee even asked DeChambeau’s caddie, Gregory Bodine, a few questions too. Nicknamed “G-Bo”, he offered some insights into the life of a caddie and the real reason golfers change caddies throughout the year:

“It’s just, I feel like change stimulates those guys to an extent to where it’s like we’ve all been to where you get a new phone case or whatever like that and you feel like you get a new phone it kind of sparks something different in you,” Bodine explained.

“I’ve been working for Bryson for, you know, just over two years now. But we’ve gone through a lot on the golf course, off the golf course as well. It’s just like any other relationship. If you don’t put the time into communicating and just try to be on the same page, it’s going to wear and tear on the relationship.”

And like any partnership in golf, Bryson’s is still a work in progress, one that he’s happy to keep playing out in the public eye.
