If anyone was uncertain of whether Taylor Swift was a global icon that transcended music and culture, they were finally convinced of it now that she is engaged to Travis Kelce.
New of the Swift and Kelce engagement spread like a wildfire on Tuesday, and of course, the tennis world was no exception, particularly since the high profile duo were spectators at last year’s US Open. In fact, they were at Sinner’s last match at Arthur Ashe Stadium when he defeated Taylor Fritz to win his first career US Open title.

During World No. 1 Jannik Sinner’s opening match in defense of his US Open title this year, the engagement news broke on ESPN.
While there seemed to be initial confusion as to if the news was authentic, or if Swift was engaged to a project or creative pursuit, everyone seemed happy.

It is not clear if Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will make it to the US Open this year, but if they do, there will be even more attention on them than usual.
One tennis player and superfan would love to see them. Iga Swiatek is one of the biggest Swifties on the WTA or ATP Tour.

Wedding questions and the like will be par for the course, to use a golf pun if they make it to New York.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
As for the tennis, both Sinner and Swiatek appear to be handling their first round business. At this time, Sinner’s opponent has won two games through two sets, and Swiatek won her match against an opponent who won three games in total.
