Top Storyline: NFL Returns To Brazil

The NFL heads back to Brazil for the second consecutive year.

The Chiefs and the Chargers will meet in Brazil on Friday, Sept. 5.

For the first time in NFL history, the game will stream exclusively for free on YouTube and YouTube TV.

Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner will call the game from the booth, with Stacey Dales and YouTube personality Deestroying reporting from the sidelines.

Kay Adams will host a studio show featuring Cam Newton, Brandon Marshall, Tyrann Mathieu, Derek Carr, and Peter Overzet.

One of the biggest complaints from last year’s game was the hybrid turf that caused many players to slip.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers in last season’s Brazil game by a score of 34-31.

Chiefs vs. Chargers: Picks And Best Bets

Chiefs -3 (-110)

If the Chargers are going to get their first win over the Chiefs since 2021, their best time to do it might be in another country.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh is a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS in Week 1 as an NFL head coach.

For Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are excellent in Week 1. Mahomes is 6-1 in season openers as the Chiefs’ starter, while Reid is 10-2 in Week 1 as Kansas City’s head coach.

Could the Chiefs be experiencing a Super Bowl hangover? The Super Bowl loser is 6-19 ATS since 2000.

The Chiefs will be without Rashee Rice, who has been suspended for six games due to violating the league’s conduct policy.

This game will come down to the trenches. The Chargers will start rookie running back Omarion Hampton against an elite Chiefs’ defense that allowed the eighth fewest rushing yards per game (101.8) in 2024.

The Chargers also lost All-Pro left tackle Rashawn Slater for the season with a knee injury.

When it’s winning time, Mahomes knows how to get it done. The Chiefs won 11 one-score games in the 2024 regular season. Until proven otherwise, the Chiefs pull out a close victory.

Xavier Worthy Anytime TD (+130)

Mahomes has to throw to someone, right?

With Rice out, Worthy becomes the team’s No. 1 receiver.

Worthy scored a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown in last season’s opener against the Ravens.

The Chargers will try to take out Travis Kelce in the passing game, leaving Worthy with more opportunities to break a long run or pass.
