The Official NBA X account recently asked some of the league’s top players to rank the best golfers in the league. To no one’s surprise, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was among the most popular answers but there were a few other players who were notable mentions. Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves was also mentioned but some of the other names on this list might surprise you. Below, we’ll rank the best golfers in the NBA and explain why each player deserves a spot on the list.

1. Stephen Curry

It’s no surprise that Steph Curry tops this list. The two-time MVP is more than just a recreational golfer, he’s a legitimate tournament player.
Curry has competed in multiple Korn Ferry Tour events, breaking 75 three times in four competitive rounds. He also won the 2023 American Century Championship in spectacular fashion, hitting a walk-off eagle from long range to secure the victory.
Known for his smooth swing and fearless shot-making, Curry plays at a near-scratch handicap and has helped grow the game with Underrated Golf, which provides opportunities for minority student athletes to play golf.
Aside from himself, Curry names Austin Reaves, Pay Connaughton, and Devin Booker as three of the NBA’s best golfers.
2. Austin Reaves

Austin Reaves has become one of the most underrated players since entering the NBA as an undrafted free agent.
Reaves runs a YouTube channel named Hillbilly Bogey and has participated in some pro events, including a qualifier for the Korn Ferry Tour.
Reaves has a smooth swing and he’s earned a reputation as one of the league’s most consistent players on the fairway. Reaves often joins charity golf outings and has drawn comparisons to Curry for how seriously he takes the game.
Reaves has already proclaimed that he’s the best and wants to play a match versus Curry to prove it. Jalen Brunson named Reaves among the league’s top golfers, as did Tyrese Maxey, Zach LaVine, and Pat Connaughton. Curry even put Reaves right behind him at No. 2 in his NBA golfer rankings.
3. Pat Connaughton
Connaughton is another name that seems to always come up in NBA golf conversations. The Bucks guard has a compact swing and has the type of competitive fire that makes him a real threat on the golf course.
A two-sport athlete, Connaughton was also drafted to the MLB and could have made it to the big leagues but chose basketball instead. On the hardwood, he has made a name for himself with his elite athleticism and defense, and he carries those same traits to the tee box. Connaughton is frequently spotted at charity tournaments and has proven himself as one of the more technically sound golfers in the league.
Without hesitation, Connaughton named Curry and Reaves as the NBA’s best golfers, but noted that neither has responded to his challenge to hit the links together during the offseason.
4. Devin Booker

Devin Booker isn’t just an All-NBA scorer; he’s also one of the smoothest golfers among active NBA players. He’s played in celebrity tournaments and reportedly has a single-digit handicap. Booker’s calm demeanor translates perfectly to the golf course, where he rarely gets rattled after a bad shot and he has a knack for draining putts from long-range.
Both Curry and Jayson Tatum name Booker among the league’s top golfers. If he committed more time, Booker could potentially challenge Curry for the top spot.
5. Corey Kispert

Kispert may fly under the radar in NBA circles, but he’s nearly a scratch golfer.
Despite not being named in the video, he threw his hat in the ring and added a screenshot of his handicap for good measure. The former Gonzaga sharpshooter has been playing golf since his youth and brings the same smooth stroke to the green that he’s flashed from beyond the arc.
With his clean fundamentals and growing confidence, Kispert earns a spot on our list among the NBA’s best golfers.

Rising Star: Bronny James

LeBron James may have just taken up golf recently, but his son has reportedly been playing the game for a few years and has become obsessed with the game. Bronny’s lowest score came earlier this summer, when he shot an 81, giving him a single-digit handicap despite being just 20 years old. He recently hit the links with golf YouTube star Grant Horvat and showed off his sweet swing and strong short game. Bronny is excellent around the greens and his strong short game makes him a great scrambler.
