Cardinals vs. Colts Odds and Predictions

How do the Cardinals line up to play football in Week 6 after Sunday’s debacle?

Up 21-6 in the fourth quarter, Cardinals running back Emari Demercado is one foot away from scoring a touchdown to close the door on the Tennessee Titans. Instead, Demercado lets go of the ball before crossing the goal line and fumbles the ball out of the end zone, resulting in a touchback for the Titans.

The Titans go on to score 16 unanswered points to win 22-21. That is as soul-crushing a loss as you’ll see in the NFL.

I didn’t even mention that the Cardinals fumbled the ball after an interception, and the Titans recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchdown. You couldn’t script a crazier ending to a game.

Now, the Cardinals are nearly a touchdown underdog on the road against the Colts. This is a spot where Kyler Murray typically thrives. Murray is 33-18-2 ATS as an underdog, the best mark for a QB in the NFL since 2019.

However, how do you back the Cardinals against a Colts team that looks like a juggernaut?

Daniel Jones is getting most of the attention, and rightfully so. With Jones under center, the Colts are first in scoring drive percentage (62.5) and touchdown drive percentage (37.0).

Running back Jonathan Taylor has been a catalyst for the Colts’ offense. Taylor leads the NFL in carries (94), rushing yards (480), and rushing touchdowns (6).

Until the Colts slow down, I’ll back them to cover the 6.5.

Pick: Colts -6.5 (-105)

Cardinals vs. Colts Prop

Demercado is getting most of the headlines on Sunday. However, Michael Carter, not Demercado, got the majority of the carries against the Titans.

Carter carried the ball 18 times for 51 yards. Demercado only had three carries.

Besides the Rams’ game, teams facing the Colts have turned to a negative game script early. I expect the Colts to jump out in front of the Cardinals, forcing Arizona to abandon the running game and throw the ball more. Therefore, I’ll take the under on Carter’s rushing prop.

Pick: Michael Carter Under 48.5 Rushing Yards (-137)
