The Buffalo Bills will be eager to play on Monday night after their upset loss to the New England Patriots.
Many books had the Bills favored by nine points, making it one of the biggest upsets of the year. The Bills failed to score more than 20 points for only the fourth time since the start of the 2024 season.
The Bills committed three turnovers β including two by Josh Allen β in the loss to the Patriots. Allen might be the quarterback you want to have following a loss. The Bills are 13-3 SU with Allen when playing a road or neutral-site game off a loss.
Buffalo’s offense is still one of the best in the league β second in rushing (154.4 yards per game), third in yards (395.8 per game), and third in scoring (30.6 points per game).
The Falcons had a bye in Week 5, and the last time Atlanta played, they beat a Jayden Daniels-less Commanders team.
Atlanta’s defense has been a surprise so far, ranking first in defensive DVOA.
Atlanta’s success in this game depends on the play of Michael Penix Jr.
Penix has been Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this season. Against the Commanders, Penix threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns in a win. The week prior, Penix threw for 172 yards and two interceptions in a shutout loss.
The Falcons and the Bills are ranked first and second against the pass. However, Atlanta struggles to attack the quarterback (37% pass rush win rate), giving Allen ample time to find receivers. I like the Bills to bounce back and win by at least a touchdown.
Pick: Bills -4 (-115)
Bills vs. Falcons Prop
Until this becomes an outrageous price, Allen throwing for at least two touchdown passes continues to be a profitable wager.
Allen has hit his passing touchdowns over 14 of his last 19 games, including four times this season.
The Falcons’ secondary is better than advertised, but Allen is too good to stop.
Pick: Josh Allen Over 1.5 Touchdown Passes (-132)
