With the 2025 NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 4, would the Las Vegas Raiders consider trading for former All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby?
Cowboys Considering a Trade for Maxx Crosby
The Cowboys struggle to rush the quarterback. Could help be on the way?
Per Trey Wingo, the Cowboys have inquired with the Raiders about a trade for Crosby.
Crosby, 28, signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Raiders earlier this offseason. At the time, Crosby’s $35.5 million per year made him the NFL’s highest-paid non-quarterback.
Green Bay’s Micah Parsons ($46.5 million), Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt ($41 million), Cleveland’s Myles Garrett ($40 million), and Houston’s Danielle Hunter ($35.6 million) have since surpassed Crosby’s salary.
After the extension, Crosby is signed through the 2029 season.
Crosby is known for his high motor and excellent conditioning. The two-time All-Pro defensive end is first in snap count (406) among defensive linemen this season.
This season, Crosby has 18 tackles, 4.0 sacks, one interception, five defended passes, and a forced fumble in seven games.
In Sunday’s 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Crosby left the game after tweaking his knee. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Crosby “should be OK moving forward.” Because the game was out of hand, the Raiders took Crosby out as a precaution.
#Raiders star edge Maxx Crosby, who left today’s game with a knee injury, should be OK moving forward, source said. More of a precaution than anything.

For the Raiders, the 2025 season has been a disaster. The team hired Pete Carroll as the head coach and traded a third-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for quarterback Geno Smith.
After having success in Seattle, Smith has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league as a Raider. Smith has thrown for 1,417 yards, 7 touchdowns, and a league-high 10 interceptions.
The Raiders are coming off a historic loss to the Chiefs. Las Vegas’ offense ran for a franchise-low 30 offensive plays. Per ESPN Research, the Raiders are the second team since 1950 to run 30 or fewer offensive plays in a game.
The Raiders finished the game with 95 yards of total offense and zero points.
The defense struggled to contain Patrick Mahomes, who guided the Chiefs’ offense to 434 yards of total offense.
The Raiders’ playoff dreams are a long shot with a 2-5 record. Trading Crosby to the Cowboys would be the start of a rebuild, something this team desperately needs.
The Raiders could receive significant draft compensation for Crosby. The defensive end could garner a first-round pick or several picks from round two or later.
For Dallas (3-3-1), the defense needs an anchor, especially after trading Parsons to the Packers. The Cowboys are 21st in pass rush win rate (37%) and tied for 14th in sacks (15).
Dallas also surrenders the most total yards per game (401.6) and ranks in the bottom three in passing defense (260.3), rushing defense (141.3), and scoring defense (29.4).
Acquiring fills the hole left by Parsons and gives the Cowboys a game-changer on the defensive line.
