Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons runs out the tunnel.

With the Tennessee Titans’ season fading away, should the organization trade star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons before the league’s Nov. 4 deadline?

Jeffrey Simmons Trade Rumors

At 1-6, the Titans’ chances of competing for a playoff spot have all but disappeared.

With no head coach and a rookie quarterback, the team should be sellers at the upcoming trade deadline.

Cam Ward is an obvious name that should be off the trading block. Besides Ward, will the Titans have any other players off-limits for trades?

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Titans’ best defensive player will not be in trade talks.

After the Titans fired head coach Brian Callahan on Oct. 13, multiple teams called the front office to gauge the availability of Simmons. Rapoport’s sources claim that Simmons is “not available” for a trade.

Simmons is one of the lone bright spots for a Tennessee team with one win. The 28-year-old is having one of his best seasons as a pro, with 4.5 sacks, 28 total tackles, 23 quarterback pressures, and 11 quarterback hits.

After this season, Simmons has two years remaining on his contract. He is the eighth-highest-paid defensive lineman at $23.5 million per year. Simmons is in line for a contract extension this offseason, and if signed, it will likely make him one of the three highest-paid interior defensive linemen.

Kansas City’s Chris Jones is first at the position with $31.75 million per year, followed by New England’s Milton Williams ($26 million per year) and Denver’s Zach Allen ($25.5 million per year).

Titans Trade Rumors: Who Will Get Traded?

With Ward and Simmons off the list, what Titans’ players should be available in trade talks?

Frankly, every Titan not named Ward or Simmons should be available. 2025 is a lost cause. Tennessee should be selling players to acquire draft assets and plan for the future.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett would have been a prime trade candidate for teams needing a veteran pass catcher. However, the Titans granted Lockett his release on Monday, making him free to sign with other teams after 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Many contenders are always looking to add more edge rushers to their defense. Arden Key and DreMont Jones will be the two Titans’ pass rushers who garner the most trade rumors.

Both Key and Jones are in the final years of their contracts, making it easier to move them by Nov. 4.

Running back Tony Pollard, who is signed through 2027, could help a team that needs a versatile player in their backfield.

Former Pro Bowl guard Kevin Zeitler, who is on a one-year deal, could aid a team desperate for offensive line help.
