For the Kansas City Chiefs (4-3), things are starting to click. After a stagnant start to the season on offense, the Chiefs have won four of their last five games. Kansas City will likely try to make some upgrades before the playoff push. Here are three players the Chiefs could go after before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

The Chiefs’ running game has been better of late, but there is still room for improvement.
Running back Isiah Pacheco (270 yards) finally surpassed Mahomes (250 yards) as the team’s top rusher. Kareem Hunt sits in third place with 205 yards on the ground.
The Chiefs have never been known for their running game. However, adding more running depth gives them another option in the backfield, so Mahomes does not have to run as frequently as he does.
The New York Jets (0-7) are the only winless team in the NFL. Their best running back, Breece Hall, is set to be a free agent at the end of the year.
If he stays healthy, Hall is on his way to a 1,000-yard season — he has 448 yards in seven games. Hall is also a dynamic threat in the passing game.
The addition of Hall should be the cherry on top for an offense ranked sixth in scoring (26.6 points per game).

The Chiefs drafted Josh Simmons to be their starting left tackle. Through four games, Simmons looked the part of a future franchise anchor.
Then, Simmons abruptly left the team after the Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chiefs brass said Simmons is dealing with a family matter. Simmons’ timeline for a return is unclear.
If Simmons returns within the next few weeks, then the Chiefs will look elsewhere at the deadline.
If not, Kansas City might test the market and see if any offensive linemen are available.
Chicago Bears offensive tackle Braxton Jones was recently benched, meaning the Bears might be looking to shop him.
Again, if Simmons does not return this season, Jones gives the Chiefs a capable starter in a time of need.

The Chiefs will likely prioritize defense at the upcoming trade deadline.
Kansas City needs help on the defensive line. The Chiefs rank 22nd in pass rush win rate (36%) and 32nd in run stop win rate (25%).
The Miami Dolphins have multiple defensive players on the block, including Jaelan Phillips.
Phillips has 19 total tackles and two sacks this season.
For the Chiefs, they must add depth to their defensive line. Phillips would be an ideal fit for this defense.
