Tennis fans openly wonder if Jannik Sinner would have won the 2025 Wimbledon Championships if Grigor Dimitrov had not gotten injured.

Dimitrov was up two sets on Sinner 6-3 and 7-5 in the Wimbledon Round of 16 match on Monday, July 7 when he suffered a pectoral muscle injury that forced him to retire.

It was sad to watch the scene as Sinner was at Dimitrov’s side as he struggled with pain after he served.

Some did not know when the 31-year-old Dimitrov would be healthy enough to be on a tennis court again. Despite what feels like a long lag after the US Open through Asia and now in Paris, one of the best developments has been Dimitrov’s return to the practice court.

Grigor Dimitrov Returns

On Monday, October 27, he played and won his first match in over three months.

He defeated Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets, keeping his undefeated record intact in Paris Masters first round matches.
