Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend won two Grand Slams together in the span of six months. The first was Wimbledon 2024, followed by the 2025 Australian Open.
Since then, the pair lost in the French Open quarterfinals, Wimbledon semifinals, and US Open final. That is the definition of a good season; however, the two did not play together after losing the US Open on September 5 until their opening WTA Finals match on November 2.
During that two month span, both played with and won tournaments with other partners. Townsend won the Japan Women’s Open with Kristina Mladenovic. Siniakova won the Korea Open with Czech Republic compatriot and former partner Barbora Krejcikova and the Wuhan Open with Storm Hunter.
During the US Open hardcourt summer series between Wimbledon and the US Open, the two were not playing together as Siniakova did not play in the US prior to the US Open. Townsend won the Mubadala Citi Open with Shuai Zhang.

The partnership is a good one, and the duo have picked up right where they left off at the US Open at the WTA Finals qualifying for the semifinals amid stiff competition among fellow 2025 Grand Slam champions.
In 2025, all top 4 seeds at @WTAFinalsRiyadh split the 4 slams, won five Masters 1000s, and made the US Open semis in a battle of top 4 seeds:

Why Would Siniakova And Townsend Switch Partners?
The biggest reason the two could end their partnership is because it is not serving them professionally or personally. Another reason is that each player knows that she can find another partner and win with her.
Success at the WTA Finals could be the basis for the decision. For all of her success, Siniakova has only won the WTA Finals doubles once time in 2021 (with Krejcikova). Townsend has never won it.
Feels like Katerina Siniakova may be conducting doubles partner auditions this fall for the 2026 season…
