JD Vance stands at podium.

The 2028 presidential election will be here sooner than you think. The Republican Party must find someone to replace President Donald Trump. Who will secure the nomination? Below are the odds for the 2028 Republican presidential nominee.

JD Vance Leads The Pack

2028 could be Vance’s year.

Polymarket has Vice President Vance (-144) as the heavy favorite to win the Republican nomination for the 2028 presidential election.

Vance has a few things working in his favor. Both Republicans and Democrats have been seeking young, promising candidates to lead their parties in the future. Vance is currently 41, and if he wins the presidency in 2028, he would become the third-youngest president ever, behind Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.

Vance is already familiar with the White House, as he serves as Trump’s vice president.

Trump, who cannot run for a third term, will likely back Vance in the 2028 election. A stamp of approval from Trump, the most important politician in the country right now, could swing the election in Vance’s favor.

After Vance, Marco Rubio (+1329) has the next best odds to win the Republican nomination. Rubio is currently Trump’s Secretary of State. Rubio previously launched a presidential bid in 2016, which ultimately went to Trump.

Odds via Polymarket as of Nov. 13

Vance and Rubio are safe bets to be at the top of the Republican Party in 2028. After that, who will emerge as a serious candidate for the presidential bid?

Trump (+2400) is listed third on Polymarket’s list. For Trump to run for a third term, he would have to amend the Constitution since U.S. presidents are limited to two terms.

Trump’s children, Ivanka (+4900) and Donald Jr. (+9900), could carry on their father’s legacy by running for president. They would definitely have their father’s support.

Elon Musk (+9900) is on the list of candidates, but he cannot run under the current rules, which state that only natural-born citizens of the United States can run for the presidency. Musk was born in South Africa.

Whoever wins the nomination will face the Democratic nominee, who could be Gavin Newsom.
