Week 13 NFL Quarterback Injury Start-Sit Updates

Black Friday is here, and with the 2025 season in Week 13, there are a host of NFL quarterback updates. Many starters are dealing with injuries, but here is the latest on who is starting and sitting during this weekend’s games.

Week 13 Projected Starters

1. Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who injured his left wrist in Week 11 and sat out the Week 12 game, is expected to start on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Rogers was chomping at the bit to play last week against the Chicago Bears given his success against the Bears while he was with the Green Bay Packers. Mason Rudolph got the start, and the Steelers lost the game.

2. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield who left the Week 12 game with a left shoulder injury that resulted in him wearing a sling on the sidelines is “trending to start” in the Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Mayfield is no stranger to shoulder injuries. He suffered a serious and ultimately season-ending one to his right shoulder in 2021 while with the Cleveland Browns.

3. Jaxson Dart, New York Giants

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has cleared concussion protocol and will start in the Week 13 game against the New England Patriots. Dart is making his first start since Coach Brian Daboll was fired.

4. CJ Stroud, Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are reporting that CJ Stroud has completed the concussion protocol. Stroud missed three games, but he will be back under center in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts.

5. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

Despite having a leg fracture, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to play in Week 13 against the Houston Texans.

Week 13 Ruled Out

1. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

While on the road to recovery by rejoining practice after the dislocated elbow, Jayden Daniels is not yet cleared for contact.

As a result, Marcus Mariota will start in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos.

2. JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

Rookie UDFA Max Brosmer will be under center for the Minnesota Vikings against Seattle on Sunday as JJ McCarthy remains in the concussion protocol.
