For reasons that are yet to be explained, it looks like the year is 20026 or 20206 or 20260. There is no good way to read the year on this year’s models. And it appears that there are not many alternative designs so we are stuck with this look.

It really does not make sense because many considered the 2025 glasses to be the most challenging to design because of the shape of the 5 at the end. Yet those glasses looked better and made much more sense than the 2026 batch.
People may resort to craft projects to turn their 2025 glasses into 2026 glasses, that is, if they can find them.
Hopefully 2026 is less awkward than the glasses people will be wearing to ring it in.
