Father Time has finally caught up with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James this season, but the future Hall of Famer can still deliver jaw-dropping dunks against younger opponents.
LeBron James Dunked On Luke Kornet
Near the end of the second quarter of the Lakers’ 132-119 NBA Cup quarterfinal loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, James finished on a one-handed slam over 7-foot-1 center Luke Kornet.
The Lakers bench immediately jumped to their feet, joining the crowd at Crypto.com Arena.

James, who turns 41 on Dec. 30, finished the first half with 12 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. He went on to end his night with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists in 36 minutes of action.
Despite missing all three 3-point attempts, James shot 7-for-14 (50%) from the floor and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the foul line. It was the sixth game this season the 21-time All-Star was held to under 20 points.
Luka Doncic, however, put up 24 points in the first 24 minutes of his performance. Doncic led the Lakers in scoring with 35 points on 11-of-24 (45.8%) shooting from the field.
In addition, Marcus Smart scored a season-high 26 points with eight 3-pointers for the Lakers, and Austin Reaves had 15 points. It was only the Lakers’ third loss in 12 games.
Los Angeles trimmed its deficit to eight points late in the fourth quarter, but the team couldn’t get closer.
10-Game Scoring Streak Finally Ended
LeBron James’ run of 1,297 consecutive double-digit regular-season scoring games ended Dec. 4, when the NBA’s all-time scoring leader was held to eight points in a 123-120 win over the Toronto Raptors.
James’ streak started on Jan. 6, 2007. It was the longest such streak in NBA history: Michael Jordan had 866 consecutive double-digit scoring games, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had 787, and Karl Malone posted the fourth-longest run at 575.
During James’ streak, he reached the 10-point mark by the start of the fourth quarter 1,266 times entering that game against Toronto, per ESPN Stats & Information.
The Lakers host the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
