Adam Schefter talks about Sherrone Moore.

One day after Michigan fired Sherrone Moore, ESPN’s Adam Schefter weighed in on the ongoing saga.

Adam Schefter Talks Sherrone Moore

The situation at Michigan is still developing 24 hours after the university dismissed its head football coach.

Yesterday, Michigan fired Moore for cause after an investigation found the coach engaged in an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member.

Schefter, along with Pete Thamel and Dan Wetzel, reported Moore’s firing. Schefter is also a proud Michigan alum.

This morning, Schefter made the rounds on ESPN’s daily talk shows to discuss his reporting and offer analysis on the situation.

Schefter broke down the “sad and tragic” situation on First Take from all sides.

“What we haven’t heard yet is Sherrone Moore’s side of this. And he gets his say in this particular situation as well,” Schefter said. “And I do know he felt like people had it in for him for an awful long time there while he was at Michigan. He felt like there were people who were out to get him. So all these things can all be true. It’s possible that, yes, Michigan does have evidence that he had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer. And it could be that Sherrone Moore is right that people had it in for him.”

Schefter continued by spotlighting how “surreal” this situation has become and what it means for Michigan.

“But the whole situation, itself, is just sad and tragic,” Schefter added. “Because now we have an individual who had his professional life, his personal life completely upended. We have a school with a bunch of players who don’t have a coach to turn to right now. We have a school in search of a new coach to lead forth that program. There are a whole host of things that have transpired here that have led this to be a completely surreal wild situation, that if you heard about it, you wouldn’t believe it because it almost seems made up.”

Sherrone Moore Remains in Police Custody

What Schefter left out is the series of events that led to Moore’s arrest.

Hours after being fired, Moore was arrested and brought to the Washtenaw County Jail. Moore remains in custody as a suspect for an alleged assault.

Per the NY Post, Moore had been stalking the female staffer for “months.” During a television interview, Michigan historian John Bacon said Moore “grabbed a knife and threatened to harm her and harm himself.”

Moore is expected to be arraigned on Friday, which should provide clarity on the charges against the former Michigan coach.
