Jeff Teague Claims The 2025-26 Thunder Are ‘More Dominant’ Than The 73-9 Warriors

With a 24-1 start to the 2025-26 season, the Thunder are winning at a historic pace. The team has 16 consecutive victories and has not lost since Wednesday, November 5.

Oklahoma City is on pace to win 70+ games this season. Steph Curry and the Warriors hold the NBA single-season record of 73-9. They accomplished that feat during the 2015-16 season. On the Club 520 podcast, co-host Jeff Teague shared a strong opinion. He claims that the 2025-26 Thunder are “more dominant” than the 73-9 Warriors.

The 2025-26 Thunder could go down as one of the greatest teams all time

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are coming off a win in the 2025 NBA Finals. Oklahoma City beat Indiana in Game 7 to clinch its first championship in franchise history. The team has carried that momentum into the 2025-26 season. Through their first 25 games, the Thunder are a remarkable 24-1. No team has been as successful as OKC to begin the year.

Recently, former NBA player Jeff Teague shared an opinion on the Club 520 podcast. He told his co-hosts that he believes the 2025-26 Thunder are “more dominant” than the 73-9 Warriors. Teague is comparing this year’s Thunder squad to what many people consider the greatest regular-season team of all time.

He started the comparison with Steph Curry and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. To Teague, they are a wash. Both players are elite PGs who’ve helped bring their respective teams a championship. Next, he compared Klay Thompson and Jalen Williams side by side. Again, Jeff Teague said it was a wash. Thompson and Williams both excel in being the second option for a title contender.

Jeff Teague said OKC’s Chet Holmgren is where the debate becomes lopsided. Golden State’s third piece during the 73-9 season was Andre Iguodala. At that stage in his career, Iguodala was 32 years old. Chet Holmgren is just 23 years old for the Thunder. OKC’s starting PF is a two-way star for the Thunder in 2025-26.

Additionally, Jeff Teague believes OKC’s pieces off the bench in 2025-26 are stronger than what the Warriors had in 2015-16. If the Thunder beat the Warriors’ 73-9 record, they would likely take the throne as the greatest team in regular-season history.
