Through their first 24 games of the season, the Knicks are 17-7. That is the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. New York is 8-2 in its last 10 and has won four consecutive games.
On Thursday, December 11, the Knicks shared their injury report. Backup guard Miles McBride suffered a sprained ankle vs. the Magic on December 7. He’s been sidelined since then. New York announced on Thursday that McBride will miss at least one week. Who will step up for the Knicks and replace Miles McBride’s production?

In the 2021 NBA draft, the Thunder used a second-round pick to select Miles McBride out of West Virginia. On draft night, he was traded to the Knicks. McBride has spent all five of his professional seasons with New York. While he’s primarily come off the bench throughout his career, McBride has grown as a player. Early in his time with the Knicks, McBride was used as a defensive specialist.
Over the years, he’s grown into a solid two-way threat for New York. In 2025-26, Miles McBride is averaging a career-high 11.6 points per game. Additionally, his .444 three-point percentage is a new personal best. Against the Magic on December 7, McBride suffered an ankle injury. The team announced on Thursday that McBride is set to miss one week.
Miles McBride’s shooting leap is unreal:
– 8th in NBA in 3P% (46.2%)
– More 3PA/gm than 6 of the 7 players ahead of him
– Career-high 62.1% TS
– Career-high .684 3PAr
– Knicks are +14.27 with him on the floor, second-highest swing on the team (behind OG Anunoby) pic.twitter.com/HkfYll6nGM— The Strickland (@TheStrickland) December 6, 2025
Miles McBride is a key rotational piece for head coach Mike Brown. While McBride misses one week, who will step up for the Knicks? The logical answer is Jordan Clarkson. He’s appeared in all 24 games for New York this season off the bench. Clarkson was acquired for moments just like these. The Knicks are without Miles McBride, and Jordan Clarkson will have a larger opportunity.
Additionally, backup SG Landry Shamet suffered a shoulder sprain in late November. He is out for at least four weeks. If Shamet were healthy, he would likely see more playing time over Jordan Clarkson. Luckily, Miles McBride is set to be re-evaluated in one week. New York doesn’t expect McBride to miss extended time.
