The Two Funniest (And Timeless) Tennis Christmas Social Media Posts

The Christmas season is filled with family, food, and fun. There is also the vast amount of social media posts depicting those things; however, among the best in tennis world are these two.

In short, it is not a true tennis Christmas until fans have seen these at least one (hundred) times.

1. Andy Murray In His Ugly Christmas Sweater Era

I don’t know exactly when this photo was taken though circa 2014 is a good guess. Regardless, it is timeless.

Andy Murray posted this gem, dressed in his holiday finery. The Tennis Letter provides the best caption by wishing everyone a “Murray Christmas.”

Murray’s original caption is believed to say: “As you can see I am chuffed to bits with my Christmas jumper #FireInTheBelly”

Andy Murray’s deadpan humor and even keel delivery are missed on the ATP Tour almost as much as his competitiveness and shotmaking abilities.

2. Jannik Sinner And Maria Sharapova Caroling

Here is a tennis Christmas miracle that no one saw coming.

Jannik Sinner and Maria Sharapova were caught on video in a lighthearted moment circa 2019 singing Christmas carols together.

Their tennis skills greatly surpass their vocal abilities, but we love the effort, props, and dance moves.

Sharapova bottled up this beauty and first shared it with the world after Sinner won his maiden Grand Slam at the 2024 Australian Open.

Conclusion

It is fun to see the lighthearted side of tennis players in their oh-so-brief offseason. We know they enjoy going on vacation and spending time with their families just as the rest of us do.

A special hats off to the engaged duo of Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter for providing us with the wholesome pay-it-forward 2025 tennis Christmas moment while serving meals to those in need with the Wimbledon Foundation.
