French Open Semifinalist Lois Boisson Loses In Opening Qualifying Match Lois Boisson enchanted the French Open fans with her miraculous run in Paris. Concerns about how her game translated to the grass courts came to fruition as Boisson lost in her first Wimbledon qualifying match. Boisson vaulted up the rankings to 65th after making it to the French Open semifinals. She lost to Canadian Carson Branstine, 2-6, 7-6, 4-6. Branstine is ranked 197th. An all-Canadian second round match is on tap between Branstine and 2019 US Open Champion Bianca Andreescu on Wednesday.
