Main draw play of the 2025 Wimbledon championships begins on Monday, June 30. Each year, tennis fans, particularly those of British descent, ask themselves if men’s and women’s singles players can win titles in front of the home crowd.

British Men Top Ranked Players At Wimbledon 2025
Jack Draper, 23, had a breakout year which included winning the ATP 1000 tournament at Indian Wells. He is World No. 4 and is believed to be the Brits’ best chance, man or woman, to win Wimbledon. An emotional Draper lost in last week’s HSBC (Queen’s Club) Championships semifinals, showing fans just how important it is for him to win at home. Draper’s best Wimbledon finishes were advancing to the second round in 2022 and 2024.

Jacob Fearnley, 23, is World No. 51 and the second highest ranked British player behind Draper. Fearnley’s best Winbledon finish was in the second round last year.

Draper and Fearnley are vying to be the first British man to win Wimbledon since Andy Murray in 2013.
British Women Top Ranked Players At Wimbledon 2025
2021 US Open Champion Emma Raducanu, 22, is the top ranked British tennis player at World No. 38. When healthy, Raducanu has played well at Wimbledon with fourth round finishes in 2021 and 2024.

Katie Boulter, 28, is World No. 41, and the second highest ranked British woman in ladies singles. She advanced to the third round in 2022 and 2023,

Virginia Wade was the last British women’s Wimbledon singles champion in 1977.
Wimbledon is among the hardest Grand Slams to predict winners. Weather (wet or dry) impacts the grass courts in different ways and poses unique challenges to players not seen on hardcourts and grass courts. Draper, by virtue of his ranking and 2025 momentum, is believed to be the Brit who has the best opportunity to win Wimbledon.
