The Atlanta Falcons named defensive coordinator Raheem Morris the interim head coach after Dan Quinn's dismissal. Here's more on Morris.

After a full slate on game on Sunday, January 5, the 2025 NFL regular season is officially over. Fourteen teams, seven from each conference, have advanced to the playoffs.

For the remaining 18 teams, the offseason has started. Two head coaches were fired mid-season. Brian Daboll of the Giants and Brian Callahan of the Titans. Following the 2025 season, two more head coaches have been let go. Despite winning his final four games, the Falcons fired Rahemm Morris. Additionally, the Browns parted ways with two-time coach of the year Kevin Stefanski.

The Atlanta Falcons started the 2025 season with a 3-7 record. However, they went on to win five of their last seven games and finish with an 8-9 record. Atlanta won their final four consecutive games. That was not enough to make the playoffs. Three teams in the NFC South finished with an 8-9 record. Due to a tiebreaker, the Panthers won the division and advanced to the playoffs. For the eighth straight year, the Falcons have failed to make an appearance in the postseason.

Raheem Morris had been the Falcons’ head coach for each of the last two seasons. They finished 8-9 both years. Morris replaced Arthur Smith, who finished 7-10 in three consecutive seasons for Atlanta. It didn’t stop with Raheem Morris. General Manager Terry Fontenot and CEO Rick McKay have been fired. Atlanta is hitting a full reset this offseason. Will that be enough for the Falcons to end their playoff drought in 2026?

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was fired following the 2025 season. He went 5-12 in his final season and finished with a 45-56 record. Stefanski led Cleveland to two playoff appearances in six years. They were 1-2 in three games. Team owner Jimmy Haslam thanked Kevin Stefanski for his years of service to the Browns organization. While there was no “breaking point” that led to Stefanski’s firing, Haslam “felt like it was time for a change.”

General Manager Andrew Barry and Kevin Stefanski were hired ahead of the 2020 season. Six years later, the team is parting ways with Stefanski and keeping Barry. Cleveland’s 2025 draft class is what kept GM Andrew Barry safe. Every player he drafted in 2025 played a legitimate role for the Browns. Andrew Barry is set to lead the search for Cleveland’s next head coach. It’s one of four head coaching vacancies, and more are expected to open up.
