The College Football Playoff Semifinal will be a rematch of a regular season game.
In Eugene, the Indiana Hoosiers proved they were one of the best teams in the country when they beat Oregon 30-20.
After throwing a pick-six, Fernando Mendoza led the Hoosiers on a 12-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to take the lead 27-20.
After finishing the season undefeated, Indiana shocked the country with a 13-10 victory over Ohio State in the Big 10 Championship.
The Hoosiers’ best performance came in the Rose Bowl. Indiana rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-3 victory over Alabama to advance to the CFP semifinals.
For Oregon, the Ducks rebounded after the Indiana loss and six consecutive games to finish the season.
Oregon jumped out to a 31-point lead on its way to defeating James Madison 51-34 in the opening round of the playoffs.
In the quarterfinals, the Oregon defense pitched a shutout in the Orange Bowl in a 23-0 victory over Texas Tech.
One of the stories to watch on Friday is Indiana’s Mendoza versus Oregon’s Dante Moore. The two quarterbacks are expected to go No. 1 and No. 2 in the NFL Draft.
The winner of Oregon and Indiana will face No. 10 Miami. The Hurricanes defeated Ole Miss in the other semifinal.
The College Football National Championship is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida
