The Seattle Seahawks are hurting. The mounting injuries do not appear to be hurting them among sports bettors.
Despite mounting injuries to several key contributors, BetOnline Sportsbook tabbed the Seahawks (+145) with its top Super Bowl LX odds. The Los Angeles Rams (+230), led by MVP favorite Matthew Stafford, face the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game at Lumen Field in Seattle.
In the AFC Championship matchup, the underdog Denver Broncos (+300) host the New England Patriots (+250).
The West Division-champion Seahawks dismantled the San Francisco 49ers, 41-6, in a divisional round game last Saturday. Running back Kenneth Walker III paced the offense with 116 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown.
Can Walker depend on as much room to run with three left tackles injured? Charles Cross, Josh Jones (knee/ankle) and Amari Knight (knee) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Cross, the starter, has been limited with foot issues, missing the final three regular-season games. He benefited from the Seahawks earning a Wild Card bye. He started against the 49ers and did not yield a single quarterback pressure.
Highlighted by quarterback Sam Darnold (oblique), 14 players were listed on the Seahawks’ initial injury report.
On top of that, RB1 Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL, opening the door for Walker to lead the attack. With only Velus Jones Jr. on the active roster last weekend, the running back room received a boost with George Holani designated to return to practice. Holani, the team’s RB3, suffered a hamstring injury during Week 12.
“George is an option,” coach Mike Macdonald said, as reported by SI.com. “We’ll see how it goes this week.”
The #49ers today announced they have signed OL Zachary Thomas to a Reserve/Future contract.
