2022 Green Bay Packers Schedule: Full Dates, Times, and TV Info
The buildup to the 2022 Green Bay Packers schedule release has been filled with twists, turns, and drama. Did you expect anything else?
The Packers’ offseason again kicked off with intrigue surrounding whether NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers would return to the organization for an 18th campaign. Rodgers did decide to come back, but then general manager Brian Gutekunst traded his best wide receiver, Davante Adams, to the Las Vegas Raiders.
On the defensive side of the ball, pass-rusher Za’Darius Smith also found a new home with the Minnesota Vikings.
Despite the big-name losses, the Packers’ front office did a solid job finding new blood in the NFL draft. The team took a pair of Georgia Bulldogs — linebacker Quay Walker and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt — with its first two picks. It also helped Rodgers out, selecting WRs Christian Watkins, Romeo Doubs, and Samori Toure later in the draft.
In a single offseason, the Packers made a major change in the franchise’s identity. The Rodgers to Adams-heavy offense is now more diverse, with the rookie pass-catchers joining free agent Sammy Watkins on the outside. And, if the defensive rookies are difference-makers, the Packers could be one of the most elite defensive teams in the NFL.
These new-look Packers will look to finally get over the hump in an NFC that hasn’t allowed them to get to a Super Bowl since the team last won it in 2010.
Does Rodgers have enough weapons and enough gas in the tank at 38 to get it done? And is the defense now a unit that can carry the team in the postseason?
