The Oklahoma City Thunder have been completely dominant during the 2024-25 NBA season. Their lead in the Western Conference is nearly 15 games with just over a week left to play, and they have a chance to become the third team in league history to win 70 regular season games.

3 Crazy Stats About The Oklahoma City Thunder

They’re not just dominant this year, but historically as well. Here are three numbers regarding the Thunder that display just how commanding their performance as been this season:

3 Oklahoma City Thunder Statistics That Will Blow Your Mind

Thunder Are 29-1 Against The Eastern Conference

Based on the overall records of playoff teams, the Western Conference has been superior this year, but two of the top-3 NBA Finals favorites reside out East. The Thunder have completed a season sweep of last year’s champions by defeating the Celtics in both meetings, winning by a combined total of 19 points, and split the season series with the East-leading Cavaliers.

In fact, the one loss to Cleveland is the only one that Oklahoma City has suffered to an Eastern foe this entire season. They will finish with a 29-1 record against the conference, which is the best mark in NBA history. No other franchise has ever had fewer than 3 losses against an opposing conference.

50 Double-Digit Wins, So Far

Oklahoma City has not only been winning, they’ve been blowing teams out. On top of their current +13.4 point differential being on pace for the best in NBA history, 50 of their 64 wins have come by 10 points or more. The mark currently ties them with the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers, and the Thunder still have six games to play.

That same Lakers team is also the one that currently holds the record for best point differential in a single season (12.2)

Outscoring Opponents By 1,000+ Total Points

Before this year, there were only three teams in league history that had outscored opponents by a total of 1,000 or more points in a single season: 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks, 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers, and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. Those teams featured players that included Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, and Michael Jordan. All three teams went on to win the championship.

As of April 3rd, the Thunder have outscored their opponents by 1,018, and will certainly be adding to that total during the final stretch of games.
