Open Championship weekend may be over, but the PGA Tour doesn’t stop with major season coming to an end. This week, the Tour heads to Minneapolis for the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities.

The tournament clearly won’t bring the juice that the 150th Open did from St. Andrews last weekend, but there’s still money to be made. With that said, let’s check out the four outright bets I’m targeting for the 3M Open.

Davis Riley 22/1

You may not know the name, but Davis Riley is having the best rookie season of anyone not named Cameron Young. The 25-year-old has already notched nine top-25 finishes and six top-10s in 24 starts this year.

Over his last six starts, Riley has six top-13 finishes and three top-five finishes to his name. He came close to a win with his runner-up finish at the Valspar Championship earlier this year, and I think he can get it done in one of the weaker fields of the PGA Tour season.

Brendan Steele 34/1

Brendan Steele is another lesser-known name on the PGA Tour who enters the 3M Open on a bit of a hot streak. Sensing a theme here?

Over his last eight starts, Steele has made every cut and has four top-13 finishes. You may be surprised by this, but the 39-year-old ranks fourth on Tour this season in strokes gained off the tee, which is the most predictive statistic for success at TPC Twin Cities. Unlike Riley, Steele has three wins on the PGA Tour, so he’ll know how to finish off the job if he finds himself in contention come Sunday afternoon.

Beau Hossler 80/1

Once upon a time, Beau Hossler was one of the top-ranked amateurs in the world who was expected to become the next University of Texas product to tear up the PGA Tour. His professional career hasn’t exactly panned out the way he had hoped, but the 27-year-old still has the talent to win at this level.

At 80/1, I like his chances above the other players in this price range. Hossler ranks sixth on Tour this season in strokes gained putting, so he should be able to have a field day on these simple greens.

James Hahn 120/1

If I’m going to bet on someone with 100/1 odds or higher, I want someone who’s shown they can win on the PGA Tour. Enter James Hahn, who has two career victories to his name and is coming off back-to-back top-30 finishes.

Hahn ranks 54th on Tour this season in strokes gained off the tee. His putter has been his biggest problem this year, but these easy greens could allow him to sink more birdies than he normally does. At 120/1, he’s worth a shot.
