Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is looking for a new home. One of the potential destinations for Rodgers is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Will Rodgers sign with the Steelers?

Aaron Rodgers Meets With Pittsburgh Steelers

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Rodgers met with the Steelers today at the team’s facilities.

Rodgers reportedly stayed at the facility for six hours and spoke with several coaches, including head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.

Despite the positive meeting, Rodgers did not leave the facility with a deal.

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Steelers and Rodgers have had contract parameters in place “for weeks.”

However, today’s meeting was not about money. It was a chance for Rodgers to get to know Tomlin and his staff.

The Steelers are in the market for a new starting quarterback in 2025.

Justin Fields, who went 4-2 as the Steelers starter in 2024, signed with the New York Jets earlier this month.

Russell Wilson, who finished the season as the Steelers’ starting quarterback, is still a free agent.

The Steelers’ offense became stagnant toward the end of last season. Pittsburgh ended the season losing five consecutive games, including a 28-14 defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round.

To become more dynamic offensively, the Steelers traded for wide receiver DK Metcalf.

What Will Aaron Rodgers Do?

First of all, does Rodgers want to play football? The 41-year-old MVP has contemplated retirement before.

If Rodgers does want to play, several teams are interested in his services, including the Steelers and New York Giants.

Rodgers briefly entertained the Minnesota Vikings, but reports surfaced that the team wants to start J.J. McCarthy in 2025.

After two seasons with the New York Jets, the organization released Rodgers on March 12.

After missing nearly all of 2023 with an Achilles injury, Rodgers played all 17 games in 2024, throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

The Jets finished with a 5-12 record.
