The Philadelphia Eagles shared a disappointing update involving the injury status of wide receiver A.J. Brown.

A.J. Brown Injury Update

Brown will not be in Philadelphia’s lineup in Week 8.

The Eagles ruled Brown out for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury.

Brown did not practice once this week, making it more likely that he would sit out.

The injury comes on the heels of Brown’s best game this season. Brown caught four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 28-22 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

With 1:45 left in the game, Brown caught a 45-yard reception on third-and-9 to seal the 28-22 victory.

Brown’s season has been rocky so far. Brown has 29 receptions for 295 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eagles’ offense has struggled most of the season despite their 5-2 record. Philadelphia ranks 22nd in passing offense (198.7 yards per game), 26th in total offense (286.9 yards per game), and 30th in rushing (88.1 yards per game).

The biggest headlines generated from Brown have arguably been for his social media posts.

This week, Brown posted a picture with the caption, “Using me but not using me.” Many internet sleuths felt the post was directed at the Eagles’ offense.

After the Eagles’ Week 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brown posted a Bible quote on his X account. “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” the quote read. “Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

In April 2024, Brown signed a three-year, $96 million extension to stay with the Eagles through the 2029 season.

Eagles Looking to Avenge Their Loss to the Giants

Two weeks ago, the Giants destroyed the Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart finished 17 of 25 for 195 yards and one touchdown. Dart also ran for a 20-yard touchdown in the first half.

Rookie running back Cam Skattebo looked like a Terminator, finishing with 98 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

The Giants did whatever they wanted to the Eagles, especially in the trenches.

One of the keys to the Eagles’ success in 2024 was the running game. However, Saquon Barkley’s production this year is significantly down.

Barkley has rushed for 369 yards and three touchdowns. Barkley shockingly has no 100-yard rushing games.

Injuries to the Eagles’ offensive line have contributed to Barkley’s decline. Center Cam Jurgens will not play against the Giants due to a knee injury.

On the defensive side, the Eagles are one of the worst teams when it comes to rushing the quarterback — 11 sacks puts Philly in the bottom five.
