Chicago fans were not pleased with Alex Cooper’s rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame during Sunday night’s game at Wrigley Field.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game is a Wrigley Field staple. Iconic announcer Harry Caray started the singing tradition during the seventh-inning stretch at Chicago Cubs games.
Since Caray died in 1998, the Cubs have allowed celebrities, actors, athletes, and other noteworthy people to lead the crowd in song.
Bill Murray, Mike Ditka, CM Punk, Eddie Vedder, Melissa McCarthy, and Vince Vaughn have all participated in the tradition.
Add Cooper’s name to the list. However, the Call Her Daddy host’s rendition might go down in infamy.
“Alright, Daddy Gang and Cubs fans, are you ready?” Cooper said into the mic before the start of the song. “You’ve never seen something like this before.”
Cooper started the song in a low voice that progressively got higher with each passing lyric. As Cooper giggled her way through the performance, her two friends danced behind her.
As Cooper sang more offbeat, the crowd began to boo, to a point where the jeers drowned out the cheers.
For her grand finale, Cooper’s friends lifted her as she laughed through the song’s final moments.
Once Cooper’s rendition hit the internet, many X users were unhappy and upset with the performance.
Michael Bolling wrote on X, “What Alex Cooper did at Wrigley should be studied forever because if you get boo’ed for ANYTHING while the #Cubs are beating the Cardinals by 11 runs you definitely deserved it.”
Evan Kamikow wrote, “I respect Alex Cooper, but this was probably the worst seventh inning stretch I’ve ever been apart of.”
RISPy Business wrote, “Alex Cooper getting booed at Wrigley for the worst 7th inning stretch is hilarious.”
Matt Lindner said, “Alex Cooper’s Stretch wasn’t Ditka or Ozzy Osbourne level bad. It was somehow worse because she was actually trying to do it that way.”
On a positive note, the Cubs defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 11-0.

Worst Renditions Of Take Me Out To the Ball Game
Cooper’s rendition might have been questionable, but at least she sang most of the words.
Ozzy Osbourne’s 2003 rendition still holds the title for the worst Take Me Out to the Ball Game moment in Wrigley Field history. The Black Sabbath singer mumbled during the entire performance and barely said any words.
Mike Ditka is a Chicago Bears legend. However, he will go down in infamy for his chaotic version of the legendary baseball song.
