Kansas City Chiefs head coach, Andy Reid, beleives his men were lucky in their victory over the Buffalo Bills as they will now face the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX.

Andy Reid Believes Chiefs Are ‘Lucky’ To Reach Super Bowl LIX

The Chiefs booked their place into the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year after beating the Buffalo Bills 32-39, as they look to become the first franchise in history to win the Lombardi trophy three times in a row.

Andy Reid, who has been the brains behind each of these triumphs, revealed that his side were lucky to clinch the AFC Championship – calling the match ‘a game of inches’.

The Chiefs head coach said: “Literally a game of inches. We were lucky to be on that side of it, where we had the most inches.

“This came right down to an inch, literally. That’s what the stop was. It was back-and-forth. It was going to be back-and-forth.

“Whoever had the ball last was probably going to come out in the lead and [with] the win. But I’m proud of our guys battling.”

Despite this acceptance of luck, the NFL veteran will be looking to win his fourth Super Bowl ring on February 9, as they face the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in three years.

Focusing on the ‘luck’ Reid was talking about, one call in particular had fans in uproar, as Josh Allen looked to have successfully completed a play in the fourth down to reach the Chiefs’ 41-yard-line.

However, match officials deemed the Bills QB to be just short of the line despite a video review that seemingly showed Allen to have reached his target.

This was hugely controversial as the Bills held a 22-21 lead in the final quarter with just 13 minutes remaining and did not want the ball going back into Patrick Mahomes’ hands.
