With a 139-106 win vs. the Bucks on Tuesday, the Timberwolves are 27-14. Minnesota is fourth in the East and is 7-3 in its last 10 games.
Against Milwaukee, the Timberwolves were without all-star SG Anthony Edwards. The 24-year-old was out due to a lingering right foot injury. Despite having Wednesday and Thursday to fully rest, Edwards is not ready to play just yet. Ahead of a matchup vs. the Rockets on Friday, Anthony Edwards has been ruled out by Minnesota. It will be his ninth game missed in 2025-26.

In the 2020 NBA draft, Minnesota used the first overall pick to select Anthony Edwards out of Georgia. The three-time all-star is currently in his sixth year with the Timberwolves. Earlier in January, Edwards became the third-youngest player to reach 10,000 career points. Only LeBron James and Kevin Durant were younger than Edwards when they accomplished that feat. On top of that, he is now one of seven players in NBA history with 10,000 career points before their 25th birthday.
Anthony Edwards has been a star since he was selected by the Timberwolves. He’s continued to improve with each passing season. Edwards’ 28.9 points per game is a new career-high. Unfortunately, the team will be without the all-star SG on Friday evening vs. the Rockets. According to Minnesota’s PR department, Edwards will miss his second consecutive game with a right foot injury.

The right foot injury is not something new for Anthony Edwards. He missed three games in the middle of December due to right foot soreness. It’s uncertain if the foot injuries are connected in any way. For now, the team will be cautious and keep Edwards out. After Friday, Minnesota has the second game of a back-to-back on Saturday on the road vs. the Spurs.
NBA insider John Krawczynski reported that Anthony Edwards’ foot injury is not expected to be long-term. That’s a positive sign for Timberwolves fans. The team cannot afford for the young SG to miss extended time. Edwards has been durable to start his NBA career.
He’s never played fewer than 72 games. However, Edwards will miss his ninth game of the season on Friday. If he didn’t miss another game the rest of the year, he would play in 73 games. With his injuries this season, Edwards might play fewer than 70 games for the first time.
