The 2026 Australian Open women’s singles draw is wide open, with favorites Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Świątek, and Coco Gauff leading a stacked field hungry for a historic start to the year. All eyes will be on wildcard Venus Williams, who returns to the court at age 45, becoming the oldest woman ever in the main draw.
Qualifying kicks off January 12th and the Main Draw begins January 18th, with all roads leading to the final on January 31st, where one of tennis’ brightest stars will rise above the rest in the first grand slam of the season.
Australian Open 2026 Women’s Singles Odds
After a year of elite-level play on every surface, Sabalenka arrives in Melbourne as the player to beat.
Sabalenka enters Melbourne Park with the best odds to win at +200, hoping to carry her late-2025 momentum into the new season after winning the U.S. Open. She also made deep runs at the other Grand Slams, finishing runner-up at the Australian Open and French Open and reaching the Wimbledon semifinals.
Close behind at +400, Świątek is determined to finally conquer Melbourne Park after falling short in last year’s semifinals. With a refined game and strong off-season form, the world No. 2 is among the most dangerous players in the draw and a serious threat to capture her first Australian Open title.
Gauff (+700) and Mirra Andreeva (+800) arrive in top form, while Elena Rybakina (+800) rounds out the top five contenders on the board. Fresh off her strongest season to date, Amanda Anisimova (+900) is another player to watch while last year’s Australian Open champion Madison Keys (+1000) provides additional firepower at the top of a wide-open board.
Four-time grand slam champion Naomi Osaka (+1400) and Qinwen Zheng (+1800) also enter as serious threats, combining experience with explosive talent.
Beyond the top contenders, the women’s field is loaded with rising stars, seasoned veterans, and players returning from injury, making early-round upsets likely and the path to the final highly unpredictable
Karolina Muchova (+2500), Jessica Pegula (+3300), and Paula Badosa (+4000) are well-positioned to challenge for late-stage matchups, while players like Belinda Bencic (+4000), Elina Svitolina (+4000), and Emma Navarro (+5000) have the tools to surprise and make deep runs.
