Bill Belichick Gives Advice to Andy Reid Ahead of Super Bowl 2025
The Kansas City Chiefs coach is heading to his third consecutive Super Bowl after beating the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.
If successful, Reid would become the first coach in history to win three consecutive Super Bowls and cement his name among the greats.
The standout name from these lists of greats is Bill Belichick, who won six Super Bowls during his time and the two coaches spoke on Belichick’s podcast – Let’s Go.
Reid spoke about making history in New Orleans, saying: “You don’t really think about all of that until the media asks you. You’re just in the grind, you’re trying to find the next first down, stopping the next team.
“You’re so busy doing that that maybe you look back on it when you’re retired or so and you go, ‘Wow, that was something really special.’ But right now, you’re into the guys, you’re into the team, trying to make the right calls, and so on.”
Belichick then responded with pointers on how to handle the pressure in the brightest of stages.
The former New England Patriots coach responded to Reid’s comments and was full of praise for the Kansas City Chiefs icon.
Belichick said: “That’s why you’re winning, Andy. Don’t look back. Don’t look ahead. Just stay in the moment and keep winning. You’re doing a great job, just stay in the moment.”
During his time with the Patriots, Belichick came close to winning three consecutive Super Bowls, winning in 2003 and 2004 before a playoff elimination in 2005.
Reid’s win over the Buffalo Bills was the 28th of his career and moved him to within three of Belichick’s record of 31 which is the best in NFL history.
