It’s a reunion in New Orleans as free agent wide receiver Brandin Cooks has agreed to sign a contract with the Saints.

Brandin Cooks Signs With Saints

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cooks has agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with the Saints.

Cooks returns to the team that selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Cooks spent three seasons in New Orleans, catching 215 passes for 2,861 yards and 20 touchdowns.

In March 2017, the Saints traded Cooks for a 2017 first-round pick, which was used on offensive lineman Ryan Ramcyzk.

Cooks caught 65 receptions for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns in one season with the Patriots.

The following season, the Rams traded Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams, where he played for the next two seasons.

The Houston Texans then acquired Cooks in a trade before the 2020 season.

After three seasons in Houston, Cooks, 31, spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

Cooks’ career numbers include 710 receptions, 9,532 yards, and 60 touchdowns. Cooks also has 58 rushes for 341 yards and two touchdowns.

New Orleans Saints Begin New Era Under Kellen Moore

The New Orleans Saints begin a new era under first-year coach Kellen Moore.

Despite rumors that the Saints might try to move on from him, Derek Carr will be on the roster in 2025. Barring a setback, Carr will likely start under center in Week 1.

Carr enters the third year of his four-year, $150 million contract.

Add Cooks to the list of Carr’s targets, which includes Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Alvin Kamara.

The Saints have not made the playoffs since the 2020 season.
